The Right to Life Foundation was established September 2009, as a for profit organization to help
Greggory Bilbo. He was in need of life saving surgery on a pressure wound. A chain of unfortunate
events took place:
We as a family realized that since his injury took place in 2003, he needed help establishing a good foundation to build on. He is not one for hand outs, does not want to be a burden on his family, the state or the country. He has a desire to be a bread winner, support his wife, becoming a father and continuing his education.
We as a family also realize there are other people in the United States in similar situations and want to help them have the foundation to build a life when all other traditional options have failed and the road blocks to healing and recovery seam overwhelming.
This foundation, soon to become a non-profit organization, is our way of saying thank you to all those who have given so much to Greggory in his time of need to others.
- First he was cancelled from his military dependant insurance because he married in 2006.
- Second he had to wait for the enrollment period to sign up for insurance through his employer.
- Third he was informed of an 18 month waiting period for preexisting conditions during which time he could not receive treatment.
- Fourth insurance through private companies would be hundreds of dollars a month as well as have waiting periods for preexisting conditions.
- Fifth in order to qualify for medicade he would have to quit his job and would be limited to the amount of money he and his wife could make.
- Sixth in order to qualify for Social Security, which he had already been denied twice, when his paralysis injury occurred, his income would be limited as well.
- Seventh Doctors refused to treat him without prepayment and or insurance.
